“The Letter”
Kinsale Friary, April 21st at 7.30 PM
On October 4th, 2022, a Laudato Si movie, The Letter – A Message for our Earth, was launched in Rome. In just three weeks it had 8 million YouTube views. Produced by the Laudato Si’ Movement, together with the Oscar and BAFTA-winning team Off the Fence, is a film-documentary that follows 5 courageous change makers, the voices of the poor, the young, indigenous peoples, and nature, from different parts of our world as they tell their stories and bring hope to the global conversation to care more deeply for our common home.
This is a movie that explores the brutal situation our world is in right now as we try to address the climate and biodiversity crises, and how ordinary people are doing what they can to make a difference.
The film will be shown in Kinsale Friary on Friday, April 21st at 7.30 pm.

Wizard & Grace by Kinsale local, Paula McGovern
We love to see a sustainable idea and we wanted to share one we read recently with you all!
Kinsale woman Paula McGovern started making eco-friendly candles from her kitchen table. She wanted to burn sustainable candles in her home and struggled to find any, prompting her to create her own. Wizard & Grace was born. In this month of International Womens Day, we love to applaud local entrepreneurs, Like Paula.
She named the business after her dog Wizard and her daughter Aobha Grace.

KINSALE ON SCREEN!
A breathtaking new music video by Cork musician 1000 Beasts was recently published, and it was shot at James' Fort in Kinsale.
Hit TV programmes Normal People and Conversations with Friends have featured music by 1000 Beasts, who now have over 6 million streams on Spotify.
The Cork native, Cian Sweeney writes & collabs with different artists to create tracks that 'are greater than the sum of their parts.'
According to a Southern Star article, Cian said West Cork and James' Fort in particular made the decision to shoot this most recent video in the well-known location a no-brainer.
